State College PA
Is State College PA for
You?
Even though I live rather close to State College,
PA, I had never really gone there. This is the town
located near and around Penn State University, but I never really
had a reason to visit. I used to pass this town on my way to
college, but when you have to drive four hours to get to school,
you often don’t want to stop for an extended pause in your trip. I
always drove by, but I never had a good reason to stop. It was just
one of those things that I never really thought about as I went
down the road.
I recently found a reason to visit State College,
PA, and it was to take my mom and my daughter to see a
Wiggles’ show. We often travel to see the Wiggles, so it was nice
to see that they were appearing so close to our home. My mom is
disabled, so she can’t really tolerate long car trips. State
College, PA is close enough to her home that she thought she
could handle the ride. We drove down the night before to stay over,
just so that she did not have to ride both ways in one day.
State College PA a Small Town
Flavor
I always try to find the most convenient place to stay when I go
overnight, as many people do, but because I had never been in State
College, PA I had no idea where I should stay. I chose three
different hotels, and decided I would just choose when I got there.
I knew that was risky, as they could have all filled up before I go
there, but I thought we would be okay. As it turned out, we stayed
at the first hotel I had not on my list. We saw the others,
but they were in the middle of town, and not nearly as good as the
first one. The hotel we choose was right off the highway when you
pull off to go into State College, PA, and was also a short hop to
the arena. It was perfect.
Though I didn’t see a lot of State College, PA
on that trip, I did see some of it. I have to say that it is a cute
little town, and is probably pretty much like other college towns.
I would definitely go back to see another show at
StateCollegePA, as everything was easy to find. Even
though we were there on Homecoming weekend, we still had no worries
getting around and finding space in a hotel.
